Story 1: Overcoming the "Gym Phobia"

After a certain age, the thought of attending a gym and knowing what exercises to do is enough to bring you nightmares!
That is, until a leaflet from Martin landed on my doorstep, I needed to change but didn’t know where to start. A personal trainer with similar life experiences to my own, a former solicitor who made a decision to change his lifestyle and to inspire others in the benefits of exercise.
I plucked up the courage to call and arranged to meet Martin on a rainy November evening over a cup of coffee. One drink later, I had committed to a 12 week program, 3 sessions a week both at home and also gym based. I am not going to lie, after the first session, my partner found me on the floor with my feet in the air, looking like a well-cooked lobster, wondering what I had let myself in for!
Martin's encouragement, a shared joy of 80s/90s music, an abundance of laughte,; and seeing the changes in my health both physically and mentally kept me going back for more. Martin gave me the confidence and knowledge to be comfortable training on my own in the gym or joining weekly circuits and spinning classes.
I will be forever grateful for deciding to make that initial phone call and the changes this has manifested in my personal and professional life. Thank you, Martin, for giving me the belief to dance on the ceiling!
Story 2: Building Confidence and Connection

He has not only become my PT but a very close friend he really takes the time to get to know each of his clients and listens to your interests and stories. I couldn’t have asked for a better PT than Martin, very down to eart,h and I certainly would recommend him for his knowledge and work ethic.
Martin has helped me so much in becoming more confident in myself and getting me out of my comfort zone. I don’t think he truly understands how much of a difference he’s made for me.
I’ve always had that thought in my head I would love to give this a go one day (going to a gym) but I just never had the confidence to do it until I spoke with Martin about potentially having a PT to encourage and motivate me through the session he provides. He is truly one of a kind, one amazing PT and a bloke couldn’t have asked for anyone else.
Story 3: Post-Surgery & 17kg Fat Loss
From “Everything Hurt” to 3 Million Steps and a New Lease on Life

A year ago I could barely walk more than a few hundred metres. I’d sit and work in front of a screen, get downstairs and sit in front of a TV screen. Everything hurt.
1 year later, almost to the day, one hip replacement, one tattoo. I’ve walked over 3 million steps, done 1539 exercises in the gym. Lost over 17kg of fat, put on muscle and generally committed to never being like I was again.
I watched all sorts of YouTube fitness videos to learn, kept a close eye on calories, carbs, protein and insulin. And a big, big thank you for all the support from Martin Sait, my PT from Personal Best.
I think you’ll agree it’s quite a transformation. And it’ll continue from here upwards.
